  • "The amount of satisfaction you get from life depends on your own ingenuity, self-sufficiency and resourcefulness. A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

  • "Anybody who has any doubt about the ingenuity or the resourcefulness of a plumber never got a bill from one." -George Meany

- This quote targets the stereotypical view of a plumber; as someone who has no common sense, is lazy and unintelligent. I think that Meany is saying, sure go and make fun of that plumber all you want because he is laughing at you when he takes all of your money.
Basically a plumber, or anyone for that matter uses what they know for their advantage in life.
But it is true if you look at a bill from a plumber that they are clever in the way that they construct the, "tasks" and jobs that they have done and you can not deny them their money, otherwise you would not have a working toilet. And because most people who call plumbers have no idea of how to fix a toilet, they will believe what they are told.

Ingenuity is stated in this quote and it signifies how advanced today’s world is becoming. Also, how much technology is advancing due to the extended efforts of the human race and the ever evolving mind.

“Growing up, I didn't have a lot of toys, and personal entertainment depended on individual ingenuity and imagination - think up a story and go live it for an afternoon.” -Terry Brooks
